The involved parties have been dating for approximately 3 years and live together.  Tonight, the suspect and the victim were in town for a family party and they were staying at the Holiday Inn.  For an unknown reason, the suspect physically assaulted the victim by striking her multiple times with his fist and dragging her by her hair.  The suspect then fled the scene in the scene in the victim's vehicle.  The victim sustained observable injuries to her face, arms, and hands.  She was transported to the hospital for treatment.  The suspect was located, apprehended and booked into jail.

Narrative
On the above date at approximately 2057 hours, I was dispatched to the Holiday Inn located at blank, blank, blank., to investigate a reported assault and battery.  I arrived on scene at approximately 2059 hours and was flagged down at building #7.  The victim's son, blank, was crying as he told me this mother has been beaten up by her boyfriend, son has not witnessed the assault though.  There were numerous emotionally distraught family members and friends on the scene.  I asked where the suspect was and they told me e had left in the victim's care, a green Dodge Chrysler 300C.  I was directed to the group through the 7C doorway and down a hallway to the victim.  I located her laying on her back on the floor in the hallway on front of room blank.  She was conscious and breathing, but visibly upset.  She was crying and her eye makeup was running. I observed that she had swelling on the left side of her face, near her temple.  She was very upset, almost hysterical at the scene.  I requested that she remain still until the paramedics arrived on scene to evaluate her.  She said her boyfriend had hit her; she seemed very confused by the situation.  She was noticeably scared because she kept asking, "Are you sure he is gone" and "What if he comes back?" I reassured er that she was safe and told her to focus on remaining still.

Officer and Sergeant also arrived on scene to assist.  Officer blank met with a witnes and obtained her statement. Sgt. met with two witnesses and obtained their statements.

Member of the SJFD Engine # and Paramedics of AMR Rig # arrived on scene and assessed the victim's injuries.  It was decided that the victim was going to be transported to the hospital via ambulance. AMR Rig # transported the victim to RMC for treatment.  I relocated to RMC to meet with the victim.

Following digital statement was obtained from Alvarez ( break time)
